Scrivere dell’incontro con il Po, con la sua terra e le sue genti.

 Nei segni affidati alle nostre mappe vi è racchiusa l’intensità di una breve esperienza lungo le acque del Po salpando da Cremona  e navigando sino al Delta, per poi proseguire oltre, per terra per mare e per laguna a Venezia.  La nostra mappatura è progetto in itinere per sedimentare ed accrescere l’incontro con il fiume Po, le sue terre, le sue genti, le culture che in lui confluiscono accompagnandolo verso il mare. Il nostro lavoro vuole essere uno strumento di comprensione e di restituzione della ricchezza che ci ha riempito gli occhi. Abbiamo selezionato due parametri privilegiati per descrivere questo viaggio nello spazio: l’acqua e il sistema antropico che ci ha guidati. Per il Po abbiamo scelto di segnare le arginature che ci hanno fatto da sponda e per la laguna veneziana i percorsi navigabili segnati dalle bricole. L’acqua è protagonista nella descrizione di questi territori: lo è come sistema di corsi d’acqua, come agente trasformatore, come motore di un cambiamento costante che avviene a velocità solitamente poco percepibili all’occhio umano. L’acqua rimane protagonista anche nel descrivere l’insediamento umano, ovvero dove l’uomo ha scelto di risiedere, offrendo una lettura del grado di impermeabilità dei suoli dovuti alla densità delle costruzioni antropiche. Il movimento, la costante trasformazione di terra e acqua diventa più facilmente riconoscibile agli occhi dell’uomo osservando le modellazioni  delle golene e di barene. Il sistema vegetativo spontaneo insieme a queste porzioni di terra modellate,  trasformate davanti agli occhi dell’uomo dallo stesso scorrere delle acque, sono gli interlocutori dei sistemi antropici che strutturano, resistono e descrivono la fluidità dell’acqua. Le mappe prodotte sono quindi un’interpretazione multidisciplinare, una piccola piattaforma per confrontarsi con la maestosità del Po e cominciare a conoscere l’ identità di un agente trasformatore. Queste carte sono ancoraggi a pensieri e tematiche capaci di mettere in luce la sua squisita bellezza.

Grafia del vuoto è dedicato ad un anonimo cittadino di Casalmaggiore e alle sue domande. Le considerazioni che hanno spinto a scrivere queste mappe sono nate dal confronto e il dialogo che hanno contraddistinto il viaggio dal Po alla laguna di Venezia.

Writing of the encounter of the Po river, of its lands and people.

 The signs committed to our maps hold the intensity of a brief experience sailing on the Po river  from Cremona to its Delta, to then proceed forward, by lands, sea, and Lagoon to Venice.  Our mapping is an ongoing project to sediment and enhance the encounter with the Po river, its lands and its people, the cultures flowing into it and accompanying it to the sea. Our work wants to be an instrument of comprehension and of  restitution of the richness that filled our eyes. We selected two favored parameters to describe this journey in space: the water and the anthropic system  which guided us. For the Po we have chosen to mark the embankments that acted as reference and edge, as for the Venetian Lagoon we mapped the sailing paths noted by the “bricole”.  Water is main actor in describing those territories as water courses system, as transforming agent, as engine of constant change happening at speeds barely perceivable by the human sight. Water remains protagonist also in describing human settlements, where humans had chosen to live, offering a reading of the impermeability degree of the soil related to anthropic construction density. The movement, the constant transformation of land and water becomes easier to be recognized by human sight observing the patterns of the “golene and barene”.  The spontaneous vegetative system together with this portion of modeled land, transformed before human sight from the very same water flow, are interlocutors of the anthropic systems that structure, resist and describe the water fluidity. The maps produced are then a multidisciplinary interpretation, a small platform to be confronted with the majesty of the Po and to begin unveiling the identity of a transforming agent. Those charts are anchorage of thoughts and themes able to bring into light the river’s exquisite beauty.

 Writing of Void is dedicated to an anonymous citizen of Casalmaggiore and his questions.  The considerations that moved to write this maps are born from the dialogue and discussion that marked the journey from Po river to the Venetian Lagoon.
